Paris 6/6

Lachlan and I enjoyed the plane. The twenty five hours in transit wasn't too bad. We watched 5 movies a couple of TV shows and slept.

Our apartment is small but ok for us, we'd probably mess more rooms if any bigger.

We spent Thursday getting settled. We bought some things for the bike that, could not be carried with us on the plane. We can now lock our bike securely.

We ate dinner at The Two Windmills. You may have seen it in the movie "Amalie".

We walked around for a while, through the red light area of town.

We got back to the apartment at 8.30, Lachlan made his bed and we waited until we could call Kristy and Georgia. Unfortunately we fell asleep. I did call Kristy when I awoke but alas it was only 5.30 am in Sydney (Paris is only eight hours behind at the moment) and Kristy wouldn't get out do bed for it :).
We slept for a good nine hours before we headed out for croissants and pastries and then called them.

We assembled the bikes in the apartment this morning, before we headed out for a slow 6 hour 40km ride pretty easy.  We navigated the Arc De Triomph roundabout, at least 60% of it any way. Roundabouts with no line marking, 20 exits and no rules are exciting to use.

Lachlan enjoyed the idea that car, motorcycles, buses and bicycles can use a road without angst or aggression. Tonight we are out for a bike ride from 10pm to midnight with a thousand other cyclists in an event called ParisRandoVelo (http://www.parisrandovelo.fr/2014/06/randonnee-touristique/).
We should get back about 1am.

It is 2045 at the moment and still 2 hours sunlight left. Staying upright.

Enjoy your ride tonight.
Good to see some pics of Paris.I think you were a little harsh on Kristy.
You did not let the phone ring long enough for her to answer.I hope you explore some sites other than the red light district in Paris. Lachlan will have some interesting stories to tell when he gets back home. Kids are off to Portugese school so i have to go. Looking forward to skyping you and Lachie when we are closer and both in similar time zones. Love Kd

Yay! A blog entry!
I can't believe you had dinner at 'The Two Windmills' was it just like the movie or has it changed? Any action in the 'Ladies Room?' ;)
Hope the Paris bike ride is awesome, can't wait to hear about it! Hope you mange to get a couple of pics.
So is the apartment in a dodgy part of town? Hope it isn't too 'interesting'!
Keep safe, stay upright and enjoy! xx K
