PAUL
Good Morning!
4km later...Our first sight of Grimsle...STUFF...
This behemoth shocked us. First we didn't realise we had a 350m climb to this point, but that sight shocked us!!
Now the day. Lachlan fell off twice today, once at 8km/h and the other at 6km/h. Pics later.
We chose to ride up or steepest climb on a day that the Swisschamp ultra ironman was being held. A competitor laughed as he passed us going up the hill. I said you shouldn't laugh and he turned around and said "I wouldn't carry that!" He'd already done a 4 k swim and 140 of 180k on the bike with a marathon to run. Well I laugh at him :).
We took it easy with a stop at most switchbacks. The 1000m climb took 2 hours (1.30 ride 30 min rests. We had a coke at Gletsch). The scenery was great. Each corner realised a different view. I thought we were the same height as the glacier, until the next turn. The sense of accomplishment was the biggest thrill. We had a pork roll at the top of the pass, before the descent. And what a descent. It was a quick 2km drop. Lachlan is a little more cautious after complaining of unbalanced panniers. I told him it was his speed, maybe over 60, the tunnel was -11* grade. He was much slower on the next bits. A good day in the saddle, 72km, 1268m ascent and 2240 descent.
No photos of the descent, bit hard at 60km/h. They are in our heads. Lachy has them on gopro.
We are just east of Interlaken at a suburb called Ringgenberg. We are riding around the lake. Oh and looking for hirudoid. I think that's what it is called.
I'm looking after him Kristy. ;(.
Love to you all. I say a prayer at most chapels that we go to for the family and travellers.
Lachlans war injuries and tan! Shoulder, knee and ankle.
Pics of the pass.

Lachlan Mitchell is in pain also, he fell over whilst walking. He wasn’t watching where he was going. Scenery looks magic. Ed and I both remember Interlaken it is very beautiful. Ciao for now. Love Kylie xoxoxo
The scenery looks great but my bruised child doesn't! :( looks like you're 'crossing the bridge' without your Mum after all Lachlan! Don't worry, I'll be there waiting on the other side :)
Bad luck Lockie, Did Dad side swipe you and push you off your steed.
Good thing you got out of France when you did, the French train drivers have been on strike for a while. Brother John had to cancel there visit to Monaco.
Things looking cool for you two, Have Fun & Stay Safe
All the best Michael XoXo
Hi Guys,
Looks like a really good trip.
The idea of a motor appeals somewhat, especially with the behemoth, did I miss the point? The hills don't look that big in the pictures.
Have fun.

Mick, that is what Lachy told Kristy. He is all good now.
Justin there is a 280cc motor under the sternum.
We think we have only today Monday as our last serious hill, but only 300m. We'll see!
Staying safe!
