The col des Aravis ascent. The worries of the day were soon over when we started the ascent and came to the 1km mark. Pretty easy we thought. The sign is for the next km. Grade, how far to go, and current altitude. It took an hour to get to the top, approx 10km per hour. A cafe, and Pepsi before we descended, oh and a prayer in the chapel on top of the hill.
Many cyclist came past saying bravo on their fancy 6kg carbon fibre steeds. Another cyclist at Flumet tried to lift Lachlan's bike one handed. With an accent he said, " You two must have the heart of Robert The Bruce"!
With that I said " You must be a Scot" he replied, "Aye".
We are happy we got our bikes up the hill. The last two days have seen us ascended 2749 m. The hard work was relayed with a 11 minute descent, 63 km/h. Lachlan got to 50 kms. He followed my lines through the corner, that is when he could see me. I stopped to take photo and caught up to him and whizzed past, but he told me I wasn't to overtake the car, " Old Man". The second half of the trip wasn't as good, a never ending hill with grades of 12%. We walked some of it, then we got on a freeway and had to call "RMS Emergency crew" who bought us to the edge of Chamonix. Oh we'll nearly all the way!
Couldn't get Lachy a KOM shirt so I got him the next best thing.
Two nights in Chamonix, hopefully weather good for cable car. Today only alpinsists could go up due to storm..
By the way so far only 45 mins rain since we've been here, 8 days..
Lachlan has some good video but they are too big to post, so he is going to try YouTube on the Interweb.
Chamonix and part of Mont-Blanc (Mount White) cloud cover went during dinner
Au Revoir

Nice shirt Lachlan but a 'king of the Mountain' would have been better! You'll probably find one in a €2 Shop! You guys must look like gypsies compared to the racing bikes! Loving the 'bravos' :)
Wow pretty cool for a couple of Scotts :-]]
The three Scots had a support driver. An older fellow who carried all their gear. That would be nice next time. Lachlan keeps saying, next year dad........
