Straubing to Deggendorf

Today was a short but monotonous day; we only rode 43km and 97% percent of it was flat, but what dad pointed out to me was that when you ride on flats, all the time you don't have for resting. You just have to keep on riding all the time. If he didn't point it out, I doubt that I would've noticed but ever since he did, the days have been relatively boring. It is good however when you do have a break and/or you have to get up on your legs. Today we did take a wrong turn but were only delayed by a minute or two(we had to push our bikes over a dike that was 3m tall). We rode for another hour till we got to Deggendorf. We had lunch which was a chicken schnitzel sandwich and a plate of pommes frites(chips). Dad booked accommodation 2km's away from where we were. Google said it would take 18 minutes and we found out why a bit later. Before we went to the hotel we bought a dress shirt for a concert in Vienna (for me) and had a small look around town.

We finally headed off to the accommodation and after 1km we were greeted with a 20% hill. That 20% climb went for 1 kilometre and we were exhausted by the time we got to the top. We aren't going to go back to the city to eat because we don't want to climb back up the hill.

Dinner at the restaurant was very nice and dad got a 259g pork cutlet, I had schwienschnitzel, and chips.

Hope that you all have a good time in the country of Australia. I am definitely missing the English language and being able to communicate but that comes with travelling, so yeah.
Lots of love Lachlan.

Our accommodation in Strauberg was a residence built for a wife, called Villa Katherine. Built 1885.

Town square.

Some sort of art installation at Metters out-skirts

View from our accommodation Deggendorf.

No communication problems in Tassie, in fact, the place reminds me of Gilroy if you know what I mean ;)
