Donauworth to Ingoldstadt

PAUL

Donauworth is a fortified city on the Danube. Old buildings of different colours but none with storytelling.
The campground was within the kayak club. Only 4 tents at the site. We watched half of a soccer match before bed.
We left the town after a breakfast at a cafe. The riding was mostly flat through towns and farmland and mostly on cycle ways.
At Stepperg, A German cyclist stopped a Dutch couple and then us to take us on an alternative route to Leopoldinen Insel. He was very persuasive. This was a half an hour trek.  He suggested a restaraunt for lunch, and then took us to the pub. He must be a known individual as everyone said G'day.
The lunches were quite significant. I was unable to eat all of mine. The menu said dumpling. I expected one squash ball sized dumpling not two cricket balls. The  beer marinated young pig was great though!!! We rode around the town for 30mins before completing our ride in Ingoldstadt, another fortified city.
This is a much larger town with restricted vehicle access but wide open streets for peds and bikes. There are a couple of disused century posts a point around the town, a couple of moats (now gardens) and a terrific cycleways system.

Due to  our big lunch we just had plain pizzas for dinner bought some breakfast supplies and came home after the temp dropped about 10*. A dutch man said it was about to get hot, maybe late 30's. Lucky we come from a land down under.

Stay safe we are.

Someone's front yard!

Dutch tourists while on our EV6 detour

A random building I liked the look of!

Religious icons and statues in Ingoldstadt are golden coloured.

Lookout for the bow and arrows!
